Summer is one of my favourite seasons. Naturally, I was bummed out that Toronto didn’t get much of a summer until the recent warm streak. It was especially hot last weekend, but Marc and I nonetheless took advantage by spending time outside and exploring our neighbourhood. We ended up discovering a beautiful flower farm full of blooming dahlias.
The entire field was exploding with shades of red, yellow, orange and pink, standing tall under the beating sun.
I was in flower heaven.
I’ve seen plenty of pretty flower fields in the past, like the lavender fields in Provence, multi-coloured tulip farms and the Keukenhof Gardens in Holland. All very beautiful and unique in their own ways, but this field of flowers was different from the rest. It was edgy and wild.
The farm is called Andrews Scenic Acres located in Milton, less than an hour drive from Toronto. The entrance fee is $5 and grants you access to pick produce like blueberries, pumpkins and raspberries, depending on the season.
We picked a bunch of flowers but not before taking a ton of photos. Walking through this field made me feel like I was in a Disney fairy tale. You seriously can’t take a bad photo here (except if you’re running away from the bees).
The pumpkin season is just starting and I have a feeling I’ll be back soon!
Thanks for reading et à la prochaine!
